PHP Developer / Senior PHP Developer - Pure OOPHP

📍 Wilmslow (Hybrid)
💰 £45,000 - £60,000
🏢 Hybrid Working

The Opportunity

I'm currently partnering with a growing technology-led business that is investing heavily in its internal systems, platforms, and product development capability.

They are looking to add multiple PHP Developers to their engineering team, with opportunities available at both Mid-Level and Senior level.

This role will particularly appeal to developers who have strong core PHP fundamentals and enjoy understanding how applications work under the hood. Whilst frameworks and third-party packages are used where appropriate, this environment places a genuine emphasis on writing, maintaining, and improving object-oriented PHP code rather than relying heavily on frameworks to do the heavy lifting.

If you're the type of developer who enjoys solving problems with PHP itself, rather than spending most of your time configuring frameworks, this could be an excellent fit.

What You'll Be Doing

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
