About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP / Laravel Developer to join our client’s new UK-based engineering team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. As a key member of the development team, you will be instrumental in designing and building a modern, scalable platform from scratch. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that support complex business workflows and enhance customer experiences. This role provides a unique opportunity to be involved in a greenfield project, utilizing the latest technologies and AI-augmented development workflows to create a robust, future-proof system. Qualifications
- Proven experience as a PHP developer, with extensive knowledge of Laravel framework.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
- Experience working with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is desirable.
- Knowledge of database systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to team working.
- Previous experience working on greenfield projects is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using PHP and Laravel.
- Participate in architectural decisions to ensure the platform is robust, secure, and scalable.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver innovative solutions.
- Implement and optimize microservices within a cloud-native environment.
- Integrate third-party services and APIs to extend platform capabilities.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior team members.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate new technologies as appropriate.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development workflows and processes.
