About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled PHP Web Developer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a successful digital design and development agency that values innovation, creativity, and professional growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in PHP development, experience in object-oriented programming (OOP), MVC frameworks, and modern coding standards.

  • Location: Wimborne, Dorset
  • Working arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) for flexibility and work-life balance

The PHP Web Developer will contribute to the development of cutting-edge web applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and play a vital role in driving the company’s digital solutions forward.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • Proficient in PHP, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
  • Experience with MySQL database management and optimization
  • Knowledge of MVC frameworks (particularly Laravel)
  • Strong front-end skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience working with Apache servers and Linux/Windows OS
  • Familiarity with modern development practices and version control systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate clearly

Responsibilities

The PHP Web Developer will oversee the following responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications using PHP and the Laravel MVC framework
  • Writing clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards
  • Collaborating with designers, project managers, and developers to deliver innovative digital solutions
  • Participating in code reviews and testing to ensure application robustness and security
  • Optimising existing applications for performance and scalability
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and workflows
  • Engaging in regular training sessions and professional development activities
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting issues as they arise
