About The Role
We are seeking a skilled PHP Web Developer to join a highly regarded digital agency based in Chichester, West Sussex. This role offers a hybrid working environment, combining remote work with on-site collaboration, providing flexibility and fostering a dynamic team culture. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining bespoke websites, ecommerce platforms, and business systems tailored to client specifications. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong foundation in PHP, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and the LAMP stack, as well as experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects within a collaborative team environment, contributing to the agency’s reputation for delivering high-quality digital solutions.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in web development with proficiency in PHP and related technologies. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if accompanied by substantial practical experience. Candidates should have a strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles and experience working within the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment. Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is essential. Experience with AI integrations or familiarity with modern development frameworks and version control systems like Git will be advantageous. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, along with excellent problem-solving skills, is crucial.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications tailored to client needs.
- Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
- Optimizing website performance.
- Collaborating closely with project managers, designers, and other developers to deliver seamless digital solutions.
- Participating in code reviews.
- Troubleshooting issues.
- Implementing best practices to enhance application security and scalability.
- Staying updated with emerging web technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes and project outcomes.
- Being involved in client meetings to gather requirements and present technical solutions effectively.
