About The Role

Spectrum IT Recruitment Limited is actively seeking a talented PHP Web Developer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking digital agency based in Chichester, West Sussex. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a developer passionate about creating innovative web solutions and contributing to the development of bespoke websites, ecommerce platforms, and business systems. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative technical team, leveraging their expertise in PHP, object-oriented programming (OOP), and the LAMP stack to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient web applications. Qualifications

  • Solid background in web development, with proven experience in PHP and related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Hands-on experience working within the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Good grasp of modern development practices, version control systems like Git, and experience working on complex projects.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if accompanied by relevant professional experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining bespoke web applications tailored to client specifications.
  • Translating business requirements into functional, scalable, and secure code, ensuring optimal performance across platforms.
  • Collaborating closely with project managers, designers, and other developers to deliver end-to-end solutions within agreed timelines.
  • Participating in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to uphold high-quality standards.
  • Staying up-to-date with emerging web technologies and industry best practices, and implementing innovative features that enhance user experience.
  • Contributing to technical documentation and supporting ongoing maintenance and improvements for existing systems.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, working on multiple projects simultaneously and engaging in continuous learning to keep skills current.
