Join a growing commodities business at the heart of global markets

We are seeking an experienced Physical Commodities Operations professional to join a dynamic and expanding Global Markets team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting and growing a physical commodities platform, working closely with Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and external counterparties across the full trade lifecycle.

You'll be part of a high-performing team responsible for ensuring the smooth execution, settlement, logistics, and operational management of physical commodity transactions across a range of products, with particular interest in candidates who bring experience within Metals and/or Energy markets.

What you'll be doing Manage the end-to-end operational lifecycle of physical commodity transactions from trade execution through to final settlement. Coordinate physical logistics, including shipping, freight, storage, inventory management, and delivery processes. Oversee trade documentation, including contracts, invoices, bills of lading, insurance certificates, and inspection reports. Ensure timely and accurate settlements, reconciliations, and cash management activities. Monitor and mitigate operational risks while maintaining strong controls and governance. Partner closely with Front Office teams, providing operational expertise and support for business growth initiatives. Manage relationships with key external service providers, including warehouses, inspectors, surveyors, and freight partners. Drive continuous improvement of operational processes, systems, and controls. Support regulatory, compliance, AML, sanctions, and audit requirements.

What we're looking for Proven experience within Commodities Operations, ideally supporting physical commodity transactions. Strong understanding of the operational aspects of physical commodity trading, including logistics, settlements, documentation, and inventory management. Experience within a banking or financial markets environment. Exposure to Metals and/or Energy products is highly desirable. Understanding of trade finance processes and documentation would be advantageous. Strong risk and control mindset with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholders. A proactive approach with a passion for improving processes and driving operational excellence. Comfortable working across multiple systems and platforms in a fast-paced environment.
