Role: Senior Risk Manager

Location: Darlington, Manchester or Sheffield, UK
Duration: 6 months
Role Type: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office

Role Overview:

The client is looking for an experienced Senior Risk Manager / Physical Security Risk professional to review, remediate and standardise existing physical security risk assessments across a multi-site portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operational Security Manager and must be comfortable working autonomously and remotely, with strong written communication and technical documentation skills.

The role is heavily focused on physical security risk assessment, protective security, threat and vulnerability analysis, risk registers, incident management, and supply chain security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, audit and rewrite existing physical security risk assessments across multiple sites.
  • Identify gaps and operational vulnerabilities within existing risk documentation.
  • Apply consistent and accurate risk scoring and mitigation methodologies.
  • Develop and document appropriate risk statements, control measures, and mitigation strategies.
  • Analyse threat intelligence, vulnerabilities, and target attractiveness across different geographical locations.
  • Apply recognised protective security risk management models and frameworks.
  • Create and maintain high-quality risk registers and risk management reports.
  • Develop and refine Incident Management Plans, particularly relating to supply chain security.
  • Ensure security procedures and incident management plans are integrated into Supply Chain SOPs and site-specific Assignment Instructions (AIs).
  • Work across multiple stakeholders and locations, ensuring consistency and organisational compliance.

Essential Candidate Experience:

  • Physical security risk assessments – particularly auditing, reviewing, and rewriting existing assessments.
  • Protective security risk management and recognised risk management frameworks.
  • Understanding and practical application of threat, vulnerability, and risk.
  • Writing formal risk statements and risk registers.
  • Risk scoring, risk mitigation, and residual risk management.
  • Threat intelligence and target attractiveness assessments.
  • Multi-site / portfolio-level security risk management.
  • Supply chain security and resilience.
  • Writing Incident Management Plans and operational security procedures.
  • Translating complex security threats into practical operational processes and SOPs.
  • Producing high-quality, detailed technical and security documentation.
