Salary: £32,199 per year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
Contract: Fixed Term – 12 Months

We are now looking for a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team and support an exciting new integrated care pilot programme.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a Care City Enhanced Roles in Social Care pilot, exploring new ways of integrating health and social care services. As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will support physiotherapists by delivering delegated physiotherapy tasks and rehabilitation programmes for residents in Newham. The role will work closely with Newham Council’s Reablement Team, NHS services and care providers to improve outcomes for individuals receiving care. The role will evolve during the 12-month pilot programme, offering an opportunity to contribute to the development of new integrated care models.

Key Responsibilities
- Support physiotherapists in delivering rehabilitation and physiotherapy programmes.
- Assist with therapy interventions and mobility exercises as delegated.
- Provide advice and guidance to care staff on physiotherapy support for residents.
- Plan and support group rehabilitation sessions where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and service reviews.
- Support data collection and evaluation for the pilot programme.
- Work collaboratively with NHS teams, Newham Council and care providers.
- Assist with equipment ordering and referrals through electronic systems.
Requirements
Essential
- Experience supporting physiotherapy programmes or rehabilitation interventions under supervision of a physiotherapist
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong record-keeping and data management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

Desirable
- Assistant Practitioner qualification (FdSC Foundation Degree)
- Experience working within health, rehabilitation or social care services
- Experience working across multiple agencies or healthcare partners
- UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
