Harmony Music School

Harmony Music School is a not-for-profit music education provider based in Ecclesfield, Sheffield. Established in 2005, the school delivers music lessons to children and adults from its own premises, alongside peripatetic teaching, whole-class music lessons and after-school clubs in local primary and secondary schools. The organisation also supports community-focused music activity, including funded scholarships, school holiday provision, performances and projects with local partners, such as Sheffield Council and Ecclesfield Together.

Harmony’s work combines music education, performance development and social impact, helping students of different ages and backgrounds access high-quality music learning and progression opportunities.

Summary

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Piano Teachers to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will help students develop their musical skills, confidence, and love for piano playing. Your contribution will support our mission to provide exceptional music education in a safe and fun environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching one to one piano lessons for 30 or 60 minute durations in line with our syllabus.
  • Preparing pupils for examinations.
  • Keeping accurate records of student development.
  • Communicating with parents about their child’s lessons and their progress.
  • Developing and retaining students by effective teaching methods, including, but not exclusive to, good communication, lesson structure and motivation.

Role Requirements

  • DBS check (If not able to provide this the school will complete a check on your behalf. You must have a clean record)
  • Experience of teaching would be preferred, however a training programme is available and you will be required to attend this and regular training sessions regardless of your experience.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ensuring that you adhere to health and safety standards, and work in line with child protection legislation.

Package

  • Permanent employed position
  • Salary from £17.30 per hour to £19.80 per hour dependant on experience and performance
  • 5.6 weeks paid holidays per year (pro rata)
  • Two shifts per week
  • Workplace pension included (if above minimum threshold)
