Job Description
Pilates Instructor – Equinox transforms fitness into a fulfilling, empowering career, equipping you with tools to grow both personally and professionally.
Your role—under guidance from a dedicated Pilates manager—is to:
- Develop safe, effective Pilates programs, tailored to each client’s goals.
- Conduct complimentary initial assessments and set realistic timelines.
- Teach private, duet, and semi-private sessions using traditional and reformer apparatus.
- Build your client base with strategic business development.
- Administer all aspects of client management.
- Collaborate across departments to create a seamless member experience.
- Deliver exceptional service—from consultation to session.
- Maintain client consistency & motivation through ongoing engagement.
- Participate in training and upskilling programs.

Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Instruction
- Design safe, performance-focused Pilates programming for different fitness levels.
- Perform complimentary client assessments, set goals, and track progress.
- Deliver in session spotlighting, modifications, and feedback for optimal results.
- Ensure client success through encouragement and adjustment during sessions.
Business Development
- Grow your client base through personalised outreach.
- Align opportunities with Equinox member base for sustained growth.
- Attend mindset training, continuing education, and business strategy to enhance active hiring of clients.
Administration & Operations
- Manage client records, queries, and scheduling.
- Maintain studio cleanliness and equipment—keeps integrity of sanctuaries.
- Integrate a community-driven approach across all services.
Requirements
Pilates Certifications
✔ Completion of a Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training or certification. ✔ Certification in all Pilates apparatus:
- Reformer
- Cadillac/Trapeze
- Wunda Chair
- High/Low Chair
- Mat Pilates
- Barrels ✔ Minimum of 400 training hours.
Proof of certification must be submitted upon application.

✔ Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, and instruct varied clients safely. ✔ Strong physical capabilities—standing, bending, lifting, spotting, reacting to client needs. ✔ Resourcefulness, confidence, inevitably ability to teach in high-energy environments.

Essential Physical Requirements
- Repetitive standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting.
- Demo equipment capabilities—reformer, Cadillac, and apparatus flexibility.
- All-in energy to support client movement, with stable manual execution.
