About the Role
Protecnium, an international consulting firm specialising in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en), is seeking a Piling Rig Operator for a Solar PV Plant Project in Scotland.
You will operate piling, post-driving, or drilling equipment to install steel posts and foundations for photovoltaic mounting structures. The role demands prior experience with piling or drilling equipment, ideally in renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate piling rigs, post-driving equipment, or drilling machinery safely and efficiently to install foundations for solar PV structures.
- Conduct daily equipment checks, perform routine maintenance, and record technical faults or defects.
- Adhere to site drawings, setting-out instructions, alignment specifications, and installation tolerances.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, survey teams, Banksmen, and ground crews to ensure alignment and safety.
- Comply with HSE procedures, site protocols, lifting/exclusion zones, and environmental requirements.

Working Conditions & Contract Terms
- Hours:
- Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with 1-hour breaks included.
- Project Duration: ~3 months, with potential continuity in future roles post-project.
- Travel & Accommodation:
- Round-trip flights (beginning/end of project).
- Two weeks’ accommodation provided if required.

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Piling Rig Operator, Pile Driver Operator, or Post-Drive Operator (preferably in photovoltaic solar projects).
- Preferred/desired qualifications:
- CPCS or NPORS Piling Rig certification.
- Mandatory:
- Valid CSCS Card.
- UK work permit.
