This role involves conducting clinical reviews, providing expert advice on complaints and enquiries related to PIP referrals—receiving them from customers, representatives (including welfare rights groups or MPs), and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

About the Role

As a Nurse Functional Assessor, you’ll leverage your clinical expertise to evaluate how disabilities, health conditions—including **chronic pain disorders—**impact daily life. You’ll work on diverse and challenging cases, offering compassionate guidance to help customers progress.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments to understand the effects of disabilities or health conditions.
  • Create detailed Personal Independence Payment (PIP) reports to support DWP eligibility assessments.
  • Develop your expertise through regular feedback and clinical supervision.

Requirements

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Valid NMC registration number.
  • At least 1 year of post-registration experience (adult or mental health, within or outside of NHS).
  • Must hold the right to work in the UK (sponsorship unavailable).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for reports.
