Pipefitter/PVC Operative – Somercotes Site
Envirogen is seeking a reliable and motivated Pipefitter/PVC Operative to join our manufacturing team at our Somercotes site. This role is essential in supporting the production and assembly of water treatment systems by fabricating and handling PVC components to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and install PVC components and piping according to project specifications and engineering drawings
- Cut, join, and fit PVC materials using hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Inspect PVC components for defects or damage and ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area while adhering to health and safety policies
- Assist in inventory management of PVC materials and report stock levels to the Stores Operative
- Collaborate closely with production team members and project engineers to meet production schedules and customer requirements
- Follow company procedures and quality standards to ensure compliant and consistent output

Requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Basic knowledge and familiarity with industrial and municipal water industry concepts, practices, and procedures
- Excellent knowledge and proven experience of:
- Mechanical assembly
- PVC/ABS pipework installations on packaged skid equipment and within plant rooms (sizes: ½" to 12")
- Recognised qualifications related to:
- Health and safety in a manufacturing/site environment
- Mechanical installation and maintenance
- Understanding of health and safety practices relevant to PVC fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (a plus)
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Team player with good communication skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures
