Role Description
The Pipefitter Welder role is a contract position based in St Helens, with a hybrid working arrangement that allows some work from home for planning, documentation, and coordination tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Fabricating, installing, and maintaining pipework systems
- Performing welding operations to specified standards
- Interpreting engineering drawings and isometrics for accurate layout and assembly
- Selecting appropriate materials and welding methods
- Carrying out quality checks
- Ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and company procedures
The Pipefitter Welder will also:
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineers
- Support on-site mechanical installations
- Complete necessary reports and documentation related to each project
Qualifications
- Strong welding skills, including proficiency in Welding and Arc Welding, with the ability to work to industry codes and standards.
- Experience with TIG Welding and MIG Welding for diverse pipe materials and configurations.
- Solid understanding of Materials used in pipefitting and fabrication, including their properties and appropriate applications.
- Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in pipefitting, welding, or mechanical engineering; trade certifications are highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, isometrics, and CAD outputs.
- Commitment to health and safety best practices, including safe work methods and use of PPE.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a team on industrial sites.
- Previous experience in commercial or industrial engineering environments is an advantage.

Salary
£22.50 per hour moving to £23.50 after 3 months. Overtime rate given after 40 hours.
