Pipe Layers – Construction (Trades & Labour) – Gloucester (Contract/Temp)

We’re seeking experienced Pipe Layers to join our growing Construction (Trades & Labour) team. If you take pride in quality workmanship, prioritise safety, and seek consistent long-term work on major projects, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Pipe Layer, you'll work within an experienced drainage gang to install underground drainage systems safely and efficiently, while maintaining the highest standards Careys expects.

Key Responsibilities
- Install foul, surface water, and storm drainage systems
- Lay clay, concrete, and plastic pipework to specification
- Read and interpret drainage drawings and levels
- Install manholes, chambers, and associated drainage structures
- Ensure correct line, level, and gradient of pipe installations
- Work safely in trenches and excavations
- Collaborate with Groundworkers, Plant Operatives, and Supervisors
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and comply with Health & Safety procedures

Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience as a Pipe Layer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Valid CSCS Card
- Experience with deep drainage systems
- Ability to interpret drainage drawings and work to line and level
- Strong understanding of trench safety and excavation
- Reliable work ethic with physical fitness for onsite work
Desirable
- Confined Space Training
- CPCS or NPORS Plant tickets
- Street Works qualification
- Security Clearance (for some sites)
Security Clearance
All successful applicants must undergo BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance before starting onsite. Timeframe: Typically 2–6 weeks.
