Job Title: Pipelayer Operative - HS2 Project

Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK
Job Type: Full-Time, Ongoing Contract
Start Date: Immediate

Company Overview:
We are currently recruiting for experienced Pipelayer Operatives to join our team on the HS2 high-speed rail project in the Banbury area. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure long-term work on one of the UK's largest and most prestigious civil engineering projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Laying and joining various types of pipework (e.g. drainage, ducting, water mains).
  • Trenching, backfilling, and ensuring correct gradients and alignment.
  • Working to engineering drawings and method statements.
  • Ensuring pipe bedding and surrounds are installed to specification.
  • Collaborating closely with Groundworkers, Plant Operators, and Supervisors.
  • Maintaining high safety and quality standards throughout all operations.

Requirements

  • Valid CSCS card (Blue Skilled Worker preferred)
  • Proven experience in pipelaying within a civil engineering or infrastructure environment.
  • Strong understanding of drainage systems and utility installation practices.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or deep excavations when required.
  • Full UK Driving Licence - essential due to site access limitations.

Desirable

  • Confined Spaces training or certification
  • Dumper/Roller or other CPCS/NPORS plant tickets
  • Previous experience working on HS2 or large-scale infrastructure projects

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, with weekend availability as required by the project.
