Assistant Project Manager (Pipelines)
The Assistant Project Manager (Pipelines) will play a key role in the successful delivery of the Havant Thicket Reservoir (HTR) pipeline programme. Working closely with the Pipeline Project Manager, you will help coordinate, monitor, and manage activities across two major pipeline contracts that form the backbone of the reservoir’s integration into the wider water network. This will include involvement in mechanical and electrical elements across the programme. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role suited to someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is motivated by contributing to a nationally significant environmental project.
What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities
- Regular monitoring of the NEC contract management portal, CEMAR, and report weekly status to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate with the technical adviser to deliver client’s feedback to the contractor on time to meet contractual requirements.
- Production of meeting minutes, action tracker and monitor the outstanding actions.
- Chair regular technical meetings with the Contractor for the pipeline contracts.
- Support the Project Manager to fulfil duties as required under the NEC contract.
- Communicating with stakeholders regarding project objectives, contributing to planning and development, supporting coordination and management.
- Project management of ad hoc projects to be managed from concept to completion.
- Working with our professional advisers to ensure that works proceed in accordance with planning permission, licences and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Scrutimise contractor information, including early warning notices and compensation events.

What do you need?
Skills, Qualifications & Competencies
- Experience of major infrastructure projects, including involvement in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation works.
- Strong communication and effective stakeholder engagement skills.
- A clear, systematic approach to solving complex issues and able to communicate solutions in an effective, efficient, high level manner.
- Ability to work to deadlines with a focus on results and quality.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to review and write decision support papers and progress reports.
- Enthusiastic and able to inspire others.
- Excel/Powerpoint/Word/Teams.
- Proven project management capability.
- 4 or more years of experience of major infrastructure projects, including involvement in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation works.
