Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a Layout & Piping Engineer in Sizewell to perform layout and piping studies, deliver projects on time and on cost, and drive technical knowledge growth within Framatome.
Core Activities
- Work closely with the Lead Engineer to execute layout and piping studies, including:
- Conducting site surveys
- Analysing input data and clarifying requirements
- Defining interfaces with other engineering disciplines
- Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders (including clients) to resolve cross-functional technical issues
- Produce critical project outputs, such as:
- Site surveys
- Isometric drawings
- Supporting/radiography drawings
- Layout & GA (General Arrangement) drawings
- 3D models
- Assisting with onsite installation activities, ensuring smooth project execution
- Supporting the Layout & Piping Discipline Manager in:
- Analysing bid requirements for layout and piping components
- Resource planning and work package preparation for subcontracts
- Participating in kick-off meetings with suppliers/vendors
- Sharing progress updates with the Layout & Piping Discipline Manager and stakeholders
- Contributing to the Sinergos mentor programme, supporting training and onboarding for junior engineers and newcomers

Key Skills & Deliverables
- Directly involved in project outputs:
- Site surveys
- 3D-modelling (Plant 3D, E3D/PDMS)
- Isometric drawings and GA layouts
- Leads improvement initiatives, including:
- Suggestions for efficiency enhancements
- Lessons learnt from projects
- Experience feedback to continuous improvement actions
Skills & Experience
Technical & Software Proficiencies
- Strong background in layout and piping engineering
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Autodesk Plant 3D
- AutoCAD
- E3D (Plant Industry Data Modelling) / PDMS (Plant Design Management System)
- Microsoft Word & Excel
- Strong understanding of industry standards:
- BS EN 13445 (Unfired Pressure Vessels)
- BS EN 13480 (Metallic Industrial Piping)
- ASME VIII Div. 2
- ASME B31.1 / B31.3 / B31.4 (Power Piping standards)

Person Specification
Must-have Experience
- Hands-on experience in layout and piping within a high-reliability industry (nuclear preferred)
- Proven ability to resolve critical interface challenges across technical specialisms
- Clear communication skills for adeptly liaising with cross-functional teams
