Ground Investigation Technician (Apprentice)

Job Description
Assist with the preparation of Health & Safety documentation prior to and during site works, including:
- Supporting and managing the Health & Safety of operatives
- Promoting a safe working environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, supervision, and programming of Ground Investigation (GI) projects across the UK.
- Logging soils and rock in accordance with BS5930:2015+A1:2020 specification.
- Maintain accurate field records of tasks performed.
- Conduct in-situ testing and sampling in line with current technical standards.
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and main contractors during site works.
- Conduct post-site work visits for monitoring.
- Managing and collating site data using company software systems.
- Compile factual reports and maintain documentation.
- Adhere to company Health & Safety rules.
- Operate in active construction sites and linear projects for roads and railways, with a minimum fitness requirement.

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Working towards a degree in Geology or Engineering.
- Awareness of GI specifications, procedures, techniques, standards, and codes of practice.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Computer literate – proficient in Microsoft Office for creating spreadsheets, documents and reports.
Physical Attributes
- Able to undertake fieldwork on varied and active construction sites across the UK.
