We are looking for a Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Placement Student to join our Utility Infrastructure - Major Projects team, for a 12 month industry placement.
As a Placement Student at United Infrastructure you will learn something new every day and develop your skills and knowledge in the construction industry in a supportive environment with an approachable team. Day-to-day, you’ll be assisting the Major Projects team providing engineering support for major infrastructure projects. All of the projects being developed are Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects across the UK, the first being a Carbon Capture Pipeline in the Northwest which started in January 2025. This is a project role, based at our work site in Chester.

You’ll be supported to develop both professionally and personally, and will also network with our wider early careers population through activities with colleague networks and can get involved in things such as our innovation challenge, volunteering and STEM engagement activities.
In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to:
be in your penultimate year at University, and on track to achieve a minimum 2:2 in a Mechanical degree or related discipline. be able to commit to a 12-month Industrial Placement that will begin in summer 2026. have good IT skills and able to use Microsoft Office packages e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel etc. have good organisation, time management and communication skills. have a full driving licence.
