LUMS is a quadruple-accredited, world-ranked management school. Our LUMS Careers team delivers vibrant, innovative student development experiences—helping undergraduates, postgraduates, and graduates realise their career potential through experiential learning.

About the Role

An immediate and critical opportunity exists for an ambitious, driven professional to lead placements and internships within the LUMS Careers team. Reporting to the Careers Programme Manager, this role will develop strategic employer partnerships to enhance student access to work-based learning opportunities, including:

  • Placement years

  • Employer insight programmes

The ideal candidate will be a strong networker, able to foster employer engagement and incentivise support for our students. Proactive, adaptable, and passionate about improving employability, you’ll have a track record of influencing industry standards—and bring fresh ideas to a team dedicated to ethnic and social inclusion in work-readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Employer Relations & Partnership Building

  • Lead strategic employer outreach, surveying needs, trends, and opportunities across industries.
  • Negotiate, deliver and review employer propositions to secure placements and internships.
  • Coordinate targeted campaigns to recruit and nurture employer engagement, including:
    • Attending graduate fairs and career events
    • Canonical application deadlines and seasonal traditions
    • Management of shadowing, insights and placements signup activities
  • Maintain data integrity, tracking employer interactions and returns on investment (ROI) via CRM.

Recruitment & Support for Students

  • Provide consistent career education (via events, approaches, and technology) on Employer expectations and Graduate opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of flexibility: acknowledge enthusiasm is essential but teamwork is easier when we show energy in a busy environment.
  • Represent LUMS at external conferences and events.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
