Maintenance Technician – Production Support
BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Location: GBR Plymouth – Belliver Industrial Estate Salary Range: £35,000 - £37,000 + full benefits package

About This Role
Reporting to: Maintenance Technical Leader
This critical role focuses on maintaining equipment by performing planned and unscheduled maintenance duties in a high-volume healthcare manufacturing environment. You will ensure equipment reliability, support production goals, and collaborate with team members across maintenance and technical operations.

Your Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain production equipment by executing preventive maintenance (PM) and other planned activity schedules on time.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to ensure tasks are well-documented.
- Conduct equipment audits, identifying improvements for prime maintenance programs.
- Provide leadership in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities.
- Oversee organization of spare parts and assets for planned repair cycles.
- Participate in plant shutdowns for structured maintenance activities.
- Offer on-demand support to technical teams to diagnose and resolve production issues.
- Train staff on best-troubleshooting, repair techniques, and corrective measures across multiple shifts.
- Comply with all company, local, and government standards, including safety protocols.
- Guide colleagues and uphold BD’s core values.

About You
We look for highly motivated individuals with experience in a technical environment and a proven work ethic.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Achieved Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Know-how in high-volume production environments, including complex machinery.
- Firsthand experience with maintenance systems, ideally SAP.
- Understanding of TPM concepts and processes.
- Excellent collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to adapt work patterns and operate during plant shutdowns.

- Hands-on familiarity with custom control systems.
