Project Planner
Overview
We are seeking a Project Planner to join a growing project delivery team within a leading infrastructure and engineering environment. You will play a key role in the planning and scheduling of complex projects, supporting project teams through the development, maintenance, and analysis of project programmes using Primavera P6.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and in line with contractual and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Support project teams in establishing realistic project programmes, resource requirements, and delivery milestones.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather project information and maintain programme accuracy.
- Monitor project progress and update programmes to reflect current project status.
Programme Analysis & Project Controls
- Analyse schedules to identify critical paths, constraints, dependencies, and risks.
- Support project teams in mitigating programme risks and optimising project delivery.
- Assist in the preparation and assessment of Compensation Events and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
- Provide regular programme reporting and progress updates to stakeholders.

Governance & Reporting
- Ensure project programmes are reviewed regularly with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain high-quality programme standards prior to client submission.
- Ensure schedules are compliant with established programme management processes and project controls procedures.
- Participate in project review meetings and progress reporting activities.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date planning records and programme documentation.
- Communicate programme performance, key milestones, risks, and recovery actions effectively across project teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning, commercial, and operational functions.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Experience using Primavera P6.
- Understanding of project planning and scheduling principles.
- Strong organisational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Desirable
- Experience within utilities, power, infrastructure, civil engineering, or construction projects.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and project controls processes.
- Engineering, commercial, or construction background.
- Degree qualification or equivalent industry experience.
