Planner
West Suffolk
£55,000 plus car allowance and bonus
I'm working with a well-established, independent property company who are looking for a Planner to join their strategic land promotion team in West Suffolk.
They promote strategic land across the East of England and have a busy pipeline, with sites at every stage. It's a small, independent team that just gets on with things. You'd take real ownership of your own projects and stay with them the whole way, from allocation through to delivery.
The role:
- Taking strategic sites through the planning system, from early appraisal and Local Plan representations through to application and consent.
- Preparing, coordinating and submitting planning applications and managing consultant teams to determination.
- Carrying out planning appraisals on potential land opportunities.
- Building relationships with local authorities, landowners and communities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
