Planner

Senior Construction Planner – Major Energy & Infrastructure Projects

London (Hybrid) – Up to £75,000 + Benefits

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Planner to join our expansion in delivering major energy, infrastructure, and decarbonisation projects across the UK.

As the leveraging professional in this role, you’ll collaborate with Project Managers, Commercial teams, and Design Engineers to develop, refine, and control project programmes—from initial tender through to project achievement.

This is a high-impact opportunity ideal for a disciplined Construction Planner seeking exposure to technologically advanced, high-stakes projects with considerable career growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Development & Maintenance
    • Create, maintain, and refine detailed project programmes using Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6.
    • Ensure programmes reflect complete logic, cost loading, and resource allocation.

  • Monitoring & Risk Management

    • Track project progress, analyse critical path activities, and identify programme risks.
    • Generate recovery programmes and updates as required.
  • NEC Contracts & Compliance

    • Prepare NEC3/NEC4 programme submissions, including compensation events and contractual deliverables.
  • Reporting & Collaboration

    • Produce planning reports, forecasts, and programme analyses.
    • Partner with Project Managers, Design teams, Commercial, and Site leaders to align schedules and deliverables.
    • Oversee planning activities across multiple live projects, balancing timelines and resources.

Requirements

Essential

✔ Proven experience as a Planner, Construction Planner, Project Planner, or Senior Planner. ✔ Strong proficiency in Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6. ✔ Background in construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, energy, or M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) projects. ✔ Expert-level understanding of critical path planning, programme management, and NEC contract requirements. ✔ Strong verbal/written communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills.

Desirable

🔹 Experience in Project Controls methodologies. 🔹 Certifications such as APM Planning & Scheduling or PMI-SP (Project Management Institute). 🔹 Portfolio in energy, decarbonisation, M&E, or building services projects. 🔹 Familiarity with Power BI or Earned Value Management (EVM).
