McCann are seeking to expand our Planning Team, with a Planner located at our Brentwood office to oversee and manage all our Southern-based schemes. This is a strategically important role, working with some of our most valued clients within the UK. You will be responsible for the creation and management of all Contract programmes & Tender bids within our Southern Division, working under our Southern Area Contracts Manager and Head of Planning.
Essential Criteria:
Who we are looking for:
- Proven experience working as a Planner within the construction or civil engineering sector.
- Demonstrable expertise in utilising Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project planning software.
- Strong technical understanding of Civil & Electrical engineering build elements (including drainage, kerbing, motorway technology, street lighting, and traffic signals).
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contract mechanisms, specifically the Clause 62 / Impacted Programme process and Compensation Events.
- Ability to build a logic-linked programme completely from first principles based on Works Information, specifications, drawings, and models.
Role and Responsibilities:
What your role will include:
- Programme Development: Developing and managing project programmes under the NEC form of contract from first principles (Tender through to Commissioning & Handover) on both P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Contractual Documentation: The draft and submission of compliant Clause 31 and Clause 32 submissions to the client.
- Programme Management: Regularly updating programmes and creating Clause 62/Impacted programmes in response to Compensation Events (CEs) and other changes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaising with senior stakeholders, both internal and external, to provide updates on the programme and key milestones.
- Progress Monitoring & Delay Mitigation: Monitoring the progress of works, identifying potential delays, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Change Control: Tracking and controlling all changes to the project delivery programme.
- Relationship Building: Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key teams such as estimating, site, design, construction, clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Delivery Process Understanding: Possessing a strong understanding of the end-to-end project delivery process.
- Change Impact Assessment: Identifying and assessing the impact of potential changes on project timelines and plans, communicating these changes effectively, as well as producing mitigation strategies to ensure project delivery remains on track.
