Transport Planner – Appleton (Warrington) Site Role

Job Description: Transport Planner
We’re looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join our Transport Team at our Appleton (Warrington) site.
Working as a Transport Planner, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our day-to-day transport operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Carlisle, Central, and Network Transport teams to develop a dynamic transport plan using Stobart’s Transport Management System (TMS).
- Plan orders from multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK, ensuring on-time delivery performance.
- Operate under time-critical pressures to meet customer service SLA/KPI targets.
- Identify, report, and resolve issues arising in transport operations while fielding external/client queries.
- Track and exceed agreed key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Continuously review processes to identify and implement constant improvements.
- Make timely decisions under pressure to adapt to changing operational demands, particularly during peak periods.
- Maintain flexibility to meet business needs, drawing on available Stobart and Culina Group networks for support during high-volume periods.
- Utilise relevant geographical knowledge of the UK to optimise planning solutions.

Requirements
- Strong geographical UK awareness and navigational skills.
- Full computer literacy, including proficiency in:
- Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas a plus)
- PowerPoint
- Microsoft Teams/Outlook (and other Group collaboration tools)
- Desirable (non-mandatory): Hold a CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Proven experience in planning 20+ tractor units across multiple depots.
- Sound communication skills tailored for a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Able to work effectively both independently (with high initiative) and as part of a highly collaborative team.
- Exhibits a customer-centric mindset focused on delivery performance.
- Commercially astute, driven to deliver exceptional operational results.
- Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS) or similar scheduling software.
