About Parker Dann Town Planning
Parker Dann Town Planning is an independent planning consultancy based in Falmer, Brighton. We provide practical, evidence-based planning advice to a wide range of clients, from individual householders to major residential developers.
As our business continues to evolve and grow, we are looking to recruit experienced Planners or Senior Planners to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects, develop strong client relationships, and contribute to the growth of a successful and ambitious consultancy.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing planning projects and providing high-quality planning advice to clients across a range of developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing planning advice to clients
- Preparing Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements and Appeal Statements
- Managing planning applications from instruction through to determination
- Liaising with clients, local authorities and other consultants
- Preparing and delivering presentations at meetings and committees
- Supporting business development activities and maintaining client relationships
- Advising on Local Plan and development plan matters

For Senior Planner applicants, responsibilities may also include:
- Mentoring junior colleagues
- Managing more complex projects and appeals
- Preparing for and giving evidence at Hearings, Inquiries and Examinations in Public
About You
We're interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience working within the UK planning system
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients and stakeholders
- Self-motivation and confidence in your planning capability
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Planner:
- RTPI Licentiate membership or working towards Chartered status
Senior Planner:
- RTPI Chartered membership (or MRICS with relevant planning experience)
In addition:
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in either planning consultancy or local government
- Knowledge of planning within the South East would be beneficial
- A driving licence is helpful but not essential
NOTE: This is not a remote role. Due to the potential need for site visits, applicants must be UK based, able to travel to the office near Brighton, and have the right to work in the UK (we are not able to offer sponsorship).
