Salary: Competitive + performance bonus + benefits

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

A well-established and highly regarded multi-disciplinary property and rural consultancy is seeking a Planning Consultant to join its growing planning team based in Shrewsbury.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated planning professional to join a busy and expanding department, working across a wide variety of planning projects throughout the Midlands. The role offers exposure to projects across the residential, commercial, leisure and agricultural sectors, alongside clear opportunities for career progression within a supportive and reputable consultancy environment.

The Role

As a Planning Consultant, you will manage a varied caseload and support clients through the planning process, providing strategic advice and delivering successful planning outcomes.

  • Preparing, submitting and managing planning applications and planning appeals
  • Delivering a broad range of planning consultancy services across residential, commercial, leisure and rural developments
  • Working closely with technical specialists, consultants and stakeholders throughout the planning process
  • Representing clients at planning committees, appeal hearings and examinations where required
  • Advising landowners and clients on planning strategy, land promotion and development opportunities
  • Supporting projects involving strategic land and site promotion across the Midlands
  • Managing multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of client service

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Working towards or holding RTPI membership
  • Experience preparing and managing planning applications
  • A strong understanding of the UK planning system and development process
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organisation and project management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A full UK driving licence
