A well-established and highly regarded multi-disciplinary property and rural consultancy is seeking a Planning Consultant to join its growing planning team based in Shrewsbury.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated planning professional to join a busy and expanding department, working across a wide variety of planning projects throughout the Midlands. The role offers exposure to projects across the residential, commercial, leisure and agricultural sectors, alongside clear opportunities for career progression within a supportive and reputable consultancy environment.
The Role
As a Planning Consultant, you will manage a varied caseload and support clients through the planning process, providing strategic advice and delivering successful planning outcomes.

- Preparing, submitting and managing planning applications and planning appeals
- Delivering a broad range of planning consultancy services across residential, commercial, leisure and rural developments
- Working closely with technical specialists, consultants and stakeholders throughout the planning process
- Representing clients at planning committees, appeal hearings and examinations where required
- Advising landowners and clients on planning strategy, land promotion and development opportunities
- Supporting projects involving strategic land and site promotion across the Midlands
- Managing multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of client service
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Working towards or holding RTPI membership
- Experience preparing and managing planning applications
- A strong understanding of the UK planning system and development process
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organisation and project management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- A full UK driving licence
