The Role

Planning Controller

Heavy Maintenance is a key operational area responsible for delivering aircraft checks safely, efficiently and on schedule. The Operations Support teams play a crucial role in keeping our aircraft maintenance programme running smoothly and safely. The Planning Controller plays a vital role by leading and influencing the support and production teams to deliver the plan.

What You’ll Do

As a Planning Controller, you will:

  • Manage the SAP revision and associated Primavera network during a maintenance input to ensure compliance.
  • Provide the Customer with Production control activities that include; material review, manage list of work amendments to planned load and Finance plan, check planning administration and SAP compliance management.
  • A key stakeholder in the Pre-Input Planning activities, ensuring all risks and critical elements are identified and mitigated prior to an input commencing at BAMC.
  • Produce check plans and timelines to ensure they are realistic and that there are sufficient resources across the business to meet the customer’s downtime requirements.
  • Assist in business and operational reporting / communication as required.
  • Support Check Packaging administration when required, including auditing of work packs.
  • Provide Technical research and support to Production.
  • Understand and adhere to departmental procedures.
  • Carry out any other duties within their competencies as required.
  • Support other departments as operationally required.

Your Experience

The role requires a minimum 5 GCSEs at grade C or above in English and Mathematics, HNC/Aircraft maintenance apprenticeship or equivalent, City and Guilds 2597. Also, a broad understanding of aircraft maintenance. Primavera or Microsoft Project desirable. A Leadership or Project Management qualification is desirable along with knowledge of SAP database & Network management and detailed knowledge of SAP planning transactions. A detailed knowledge of resources application, scheduling, levelling and reporting.
