Planning & Customer Service Coordinator

Location: Greater Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum DoE

Hours: Monday to Friday | 9:00am – 5:00pm

Working Pattern: Office Based

About The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established international manufacturer looking to recruit a Planning & Customer Service Coordinator to join their busy Dinnington facility.

Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring customers receive an exceptional level of service while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of production. Acting as the link between customers, production, logistics and suppliers, you'll coordinate customer orders, production schedules and operational administration to ensure products are delivered on time and manufacturing plans remain on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for customer enquiries, orders and delivery requests, ensuring an excellent customer experience throughout
  • Plan and schedule production using Microsoft Dynamics AX and Preactor, managing work orders in line with customer demand and manufacturing capacity
  • Coordinate customer deliveries, collections, export documentation and invoicing, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
  • Raise purchase orders, process goods receipts and support stock control and inventory management activities
  • Work closely with production, logistics and suppliers to resolve scheduling challenges and ensure customer deadlines are achieved
  • Provide general administrative support including maintaining customer and supplier records, booking couriers, arranging travel and managing business documentation.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience within Customer Service, Production Planning, Scheduling, Supply Chain or Manufacturing Administration
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach
  • High attention to detail with strong administration and problem-solving abilities
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with colleagues across multiple departments.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Knowledge of production planning and scheduling software such as Preactor
  • Understanding of logistics, shipping and export documentation
  • Experience supporting purchasing, procurement or inventory control activities.

Our client is looking to move quickly with this appointment, with the interview process expected to consist of one stage.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend a face-to-face interview at the Sheffield site with the Hiring Manager, lasting approximately one hour.

The interview will be a mixture of personal and competency-based questions, focusing on your previous experience, communication style, organisational skills and ability to work within a fast-paced environment. You'll also have the opportunity to discuss the role in more detail, learn about the business and ask any questions you may have.
