About the Role
Do you want to work in a friendly, multi-skilled enforcement and regulation service, tackling a diverse range of planning enforcement cases through innovative solutions? This exciting opportunity offers the chance to join a busy team managing complex and varied cases while developing your experience in a historic and regenerating environment.
You will investigate planning complaints and collaborate with Conservation Officers, Planners, and other council colleagues, as well as provide advice to the public, developers, applicants, and other services.
This role suits a planning officer with an enforcement background or an individual with a strong understanding of the regulatory framework, seeking to expand their experience in a historic city. Alternatively, it could also appeal to Conservation Officers or professionals exploring a career in enforcement.

- Excellent organisational, communication, negotiation, and mediation skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Sharp attention to detail for investigations, managing enquiries, and handling complex enforcement cases effectively.

Interpersonal & Practical Abilities
- Ability to collaborate with Planners, Conservation Officers, councillors, legal teams, and the public.
- Skills in simplifying complex information for presentable reports with exceptional writing skills.
- A clean driving licence and proficient use of technology, alongside a solid familiarity with the planning system.
