GTC, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for Planning Engineer - MU Design who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
Purpose of this role
The Planning Engineer – Multi-Utility Design will liaise with internal and external parties to design multi-utility networks for new housing, mixed-use, and industrial and commercial projects.
Your Key Responsibilities Are
- Undertake demand calculations, network drawings and variations and to ensure network designs are fit for purpose, legislatively compliant and in accordance with Company and industry standards.
- Design innovative engineering solutions that satisfy both our customer needs and the needs of internal stakeholders - provide lowest cost for greatest benefit.
- Liaise with our clients to understand the requirements and constraints on their projects.
- Calculate contract variation costs and produce variation orders for clients.
- Attend meetings with Clients, Network Operators, and other companies as required.
- Liaise with other departments and companies across the BUUK group to ensure the safe and efficient construction of projects.
- Achieve high customer satisfaction with our design / variation processes.
- Any other duties as required by the manager.

Qualifications
- GCSE (or equivalent) grade 5 or above in English language and Maths.
Experience/Knowledge
- Knowledge of engineering principles.
- Knowledge of health and safety.
- Legislation.
Abilities/Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes or equivalent.
Desirable
- An Engineering Degree.
- Engineering Council Membership at EngTech or above.
- Experience in a design related role in the construction or Utilities sector.
- Proficient in using AutoCAD & GIS (geographical Information Systems).
