The role

We're looking for a Planning Engineer to join our Data Centre team. You'll play a key role in how complex, high-value projects are planned, tracked and delivered, combining strong technical understanding with modern, data-driven tools and methods.

What you'll do

  • Develop, manage and maintain detailed master construction programmes aligned to project objectives and key milestones
  • Provide detailed schedule development of Civils and MEP systems from first principles, in close consultation with construction, engineering and site delivery teams
  • Establish and operate robust project controls procedures to monitor progress, performance, productivity and programme health
  • Produce and present clear, accurate progress reports for internal leadership and client stakeholders
  • Support preparation and review of method statements, contributing to safe, efficient and high-quality delivery
  • Create and present detailed sequence sketches, phasing diagrams and storyboards to support site coordination
  • Collaborate with site, design, engineering and commercial teams to gather information, identify programme risks and highlight opportunities
  • Implement and maintain progress measurement systems including earned value analysis, quantities installed and tracking of critical systems
  • Track procurement, off-site fabrication, modularisation and delivery interfaces, ensuring alignment with the construction programme
  • Support change management, delay analysis and impact assessments, particularly within live or phased operational environments
  • Proactively communicate risks, constraints and deviations to keep works on programme

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
  • 4+ years in construction; main contractor experience is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Process-driven and analytical, with strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communicator who works well across disciplines
  • Proactive, autonomous and results-oriented
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% across project locations
  • Full right to work in the UK

Advantageous

  • Data Centre sector experience or a strong interest in it
  • Digital construction tools (PowerBI, 4D Synchro, QSRA)
  • Understanding of MEP systems (electrical distribution, HVAC/CHW, life safety, controls and BMS/PMS)
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes (IST, Level 1-5)
