Planning & Fulfillment Manager
Supply Planning & Warehouse Operations Lead – ABB Furse, Nottingham

About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for leading supply planning, inventory management, and warehouse operations. As part of the site leadership team, you will drive planning initiatives to optimize finished goods and material flow, improving on-time delivery and reducing lead times. You will develop and maintain supply plans ensuring optimal inventory levels and material availability, while overseeing warehouse operations to fulfill orders efficiently and support business objectives. A key focus of this role will be to streamline information and material flow across planning and fulfillment functions to enhance operational efficiency and ensure adherence to inventory targets and supply chain best practices.

Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
- Work model: Onsite at our ABB Furse facility in Nottingham.
- Owns the site supply planning process and provides visibility of supply capacity and local supply objectives. Provides feedback on the site’s ability to support the demand plan and ensure alignment between planning and execution.
- Accountable for warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, internal movements, and shipping, to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Implements and maintains inventory control systems to track stock levels, manage replenishment, and minimize discrepancies.
- Accountable for entire site inventory management and material movements, driving optimization projects, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and identifying opportunities for process enhancements within planning and fulfillment operations to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Leads cross-functional initiatives to optimize on-time delivery, lead times, inventory, resource utilization, and forecast accuracy. Coordinates responses to unplanned events and aligns operational strategies to support business objectives.

- Manages and develops the planning and warehouse teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring team capability to deliver operational excellence.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensures compliance with ABB’s code of conduct, global and local standards, and relevant regulations. Prioritizes safety standards across all operations and maintains integrity and adherence to ABB’s core values and ethics.
Qualifications for the Role
- Relevant degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (beneficial but not essential)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, or operations, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions to optimize supply chain processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams and driving cross-functional initiatives to achieve organizational goals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools required
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and manage unplanned events effectively while maintaining focus on strategic objectives
