We are now looking for an experienced Planning Lead to shape & strengthen our Planning & Project Controls function and be a key part of our continued growth.
Role Overview
As our Planning Lead, you will take ownership of planning and project controls across the entire business, from early bid development through to delivery, reporting, and close-out of live projects. This is a role for someone who enjoys both leading others and rolling up their sleeves!
You will work closely with senior management, mentor planning staff, drive governance and quality, support innovation, and ensure our programmes and controls are robust, consistent, and industry-leading.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and mentor the planning and project controls team.
- Identify resource needs and support recruitment, training, and onboarding.
- Motivate and guide junior and mid-level planners, supporting long-term development.
- Oversee preparation and governance of planning and controls outputs.
- Provide assurance, reviews, and audits across programmes, dashboards, and reports.
- Maintain governance, traceability, and quality across all programme-related processes.
- Innovate and implement improvements in planning methodology and tools.
- Provide oversight of project progress measurement systems, KPIs, milestones, and trend analysis.
- Manage supply chain programme submissions and acceptance processes.
- Ensure integration of design, procurement, construction, and commissioning elements.
- Lead change management assessments and advise on EOT matters where required.
- Develop tender programmes and method statements at bid stage.
- Provide planning intelligence for prequalification and strategic decisions.
- Analyse time-related preliminaries and support commercial teams.

- Strong expertise in Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, MS Project, and project controls systems.
- Ability to analyse programme logic, delay, and progress trends.
- A natural leader, communicator, and coach with the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Robust knowledge across construction sectors, contracts, risk management, and performance measurement techniques.
- A proactive, professional, and diligent approach—balancing detail with big-picture thinking.
