Description

Job Title: Planning Manager, EMEA (CDG, LHR or FRA)

Location: Didcot, Lisses or Frankfurt

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Manager to oversee the planning and scheduling activities across our data center development projects in construction stage within the UK/France/German regions (the role will be specific to one region but support across EMEA will be required while we continue to actively recruit). This operational role will focus on assessing project reports, ensuring compliance with established standards, and optimizing project timelines to align with our strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project planning (particularly within the data center or large-scale infrastructure sectors), alongside strong stakeholder engagement capabilities. A good understanding of construction contracts and change management along with demonstrable experience in dealing with client presentation and contractor evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

Standards Development:

  • Establish and maintain planning and scheduling standards from our general contractors on site, creating a good relationship to encourage continuous improvement.
  • Help to update best practices and guidelines to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and report on third-party standards, actively working to ensure CHQ receive the best possible submissions across the board.

Project Compliance

  • Assess project reports submitted by internal and external project teams to ensure adherence to established standards and company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of project schedules to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.

Oversight Of Planning And Scheduling

  • Oversee the development and management of comprehensive project schedules by our GC’s and Vendors, ensuring alignment with industry-standard tools and methodologies.
  • Monitor project progress through the assessment of submitted reports, identifying deviations from the plan and advising on corrective actions as necessary.

Collaboration And Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with consultant teams, project management, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project timelines and resource allocations.
  • Facilitate communication among project teams to ensure a clear understanding of project goals and deadlines.

Reporting And Analysis

  • Report directly to the Project Controls Director, providing insights and assessments on project scheduling status, risks, and performance metrics based on incoming reports.
  • Analyze data and reports to assess project performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for strategic decision making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale infrastructure or data center projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of EMEA regulatory requirements related to data center development is a plus.
  • PMP, PMI-SP, or similar certification is preferred
  • Willingness to travel across the Region, as the business requires (25%)
