Job Description

Working closely with the Operation, the Planning Manager will be responsible for creating the week to week production schedule, giving the Operation the very best chance of meeting company efficiency targets & ensuring delivery in full. Close liaisons with the Sales & Operational Planning teams in order to ensure plans are in line with expectation & deadlines are achieved.

This is a full time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week.

Key Duties of a Planning Manager

  • Ensure the business maintains safe ways of working.
  • Provide safe systems of work and procedures.
  • Report all issues that compromise an individual or the business.
  • Creation of Weekly production schedule within our Operations & Planning system “Vision”.
  • Creation of Production Line works orders within our Operations & Planning system “Vision”.
  • Work closely with the operation on a daily basis to ensure planned targets and customer deadlines are being met & priorities are advised.
  • Escalate any operational issues to the Site General Manager.
  • Link in with Sales & Operations team through regular meetings, to escalate any plan target shortfalls.
  • Book the correct amount of outbound vehicles to despatch stock in a timely manner.
  • Manage plans in conjunction with Material availability working on a push / pull basis.
  • To liaise with our customer and our suppliers regarding Non-Conforming deliveries.
  • Utilise and promote the use of the business “Vision System” in order to streamline processes and communicate effectively across the business.
  • Create measures and define processes to take the role and the business forward.
  • Your attendance would be required at various production and planning meetings.
  • Be a role model for others at all times and demonstrate the company behaviours.
  • Manage team of Material Planners ensuring smooth process in line with KPI’s
  • Smooth planning of inbound stock and vehicles within the capacity of the site.
  • All stock to be returned in a timely manner (communication with Commercial and Quality).
  • Be the go to & Request concessions for OOD stock
  • Administer material data through IPS and Customer systems

Qualifications

  • Experience within an administrative team in a production environment
  • Production Planning
  • Material Scheduling
  • Experience of working in a customer-led environment with changing priorities
  • Preferably food or packing experience is desirable
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to strict deadlines
  • Recognises and promotes the importance of continuous improvement
