Plant Area & Systems (Mechanical) Team Leader
Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineering Leader looking for your next challenge within a major industrial operation?
We’re recruiting for a senior leadership position with one of the UK’s leading energy organisations. This is an opportunity to lead a highly skilled engineering team responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a critical plant area.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading a multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance team
- Managing major outages and engineering projects
- Developing maintenance and asset management strategies
- Managing engineering budgets and capital expenditure
- Contractor and stakeholder management
- Driving operational excellence, safety, and compliance
- Delivering long-term plant reliability and performance improvements

Experience Required
We’re looking for candidates with experience in:
- ✔ Power Generation (CCGT, CHP, Energy from Waste, Nuclear or similar)
- ✔ Heavy Process Industry
- ✔ Petrochemical
- ✔ Oil & Gas
- ✔ Large Industrial Manufacturing
You’ll ideally have:
- A Mechanical Engineering qualification (Degree or HNC/HND)
- Strong leadership experience
- Asset management and maintenance expertise
- High-value project and outage management experience
- Commercial and contract management experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
