Senior Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Engineer – UK Power Generation Sector
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to join a leading organisation operating within the UK power generation sector.
This strategic engineering role offers the opportunity to influence asset performance, reliability and long-term engineering strategy, while working on major plant projects and outages.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing a designated plant area and engineering systems
- Developing maintenance and asset management strategies
- Leading engineering projects and major outages
- Managing engineering contracts and contractor performance
- Overseeing operational and capital budgets
- Driving compliance, safety and operational excellence
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Key Requirements
We’re looking for experience in:
✔ Power Generation (CCGT, CHP or energy from waste) ✔ Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineering ✔ Heavy Industrial Process Plants ✔ Asset Management & Reliability ✔ Maintenance Strategy Development ✔ Project & Outage Management ✔ SAP Maintenance Systems ✔ Contract & Commercial Management
Ideal Candidate Background
A Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical or EC&I Engineering, combined with:

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A passion for continuous improvement and engineering excellence
Package
- Salary: £63,000–£77,000 per annum
- Performance bonus
- Up to 12% employer pension contribution
