Plant Assistant

About The Role

Be part of a once-in-a-generation infrastructure project that will help power 6 million homes with clean, reliable energy for decades to come.

Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station is a landmark development on the Suffolk coast, delivering a 3.2GW nuclear power station that will play a critical role in the UK’s low-carbon future.

The project is delivered through the Civil Works Alliance, bringing together world-class expertise from major global infrastructure programmes. Within this, the Geotechnical Sub Alliance (GSA) is responsible for delivering complex ground engineering works, including piling, ground improvement and diaphragm walls, from January 2026 to mid-2028.

As a Plant Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Deputy Plant Manager and wider plant team to deliver efficient, reliable and compliant plant services across multiple geotechnical sites. You’ll help ensure that plant hire, servicing and maintenance activities are well coordinated, accurately recorded and aligned with project requirements.

This is a site-based role offering exposure to large-scale plant operations within one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes, with excellent opportunities to develop your technical and commercial understanding of plant management.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you’ll support the coordination and administration of plant hire, servicing and operational activities across the GSA sites, helping to keep site teams fully equipped and productive.

  • Process plant hire requests from site teams, maintain accurate hire and utilisation records, and liaise with internal plant teams and approved external suppliers to arrange deliveries, collections, servicing and repairs.
  • Assist with obtaining quotations and managing external hire agreements in line with CPA contract terms.
  • Gather and manage weekly inspection forms, delivery inspections and PUWER logs, ensuring that service schedules, certifications and compliance documentation are kept up to date.
  • Track maintenance and inspection requirements, helping ensure all plant remains safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
  • Coordinate repair activities for faulty or damaged equipment, responding promptly to breakdowns and arranging suitable replacements where required.
  • Support the onboarding of new plant assets, including tagging, documentation and system updates.
  • Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to deliver timely and cost-effective plant provision.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support audits and inspections, and ensure all plant-related data is handled in line with GDPR and internal policies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
