Role Description
The Plant Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Peterborough. The Plant Engineer will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Diagnosing faults
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance
- Supporting plant operations
- Coordinating with the hire and operations teams to minimize downtime

The role also involves:

The Plant Engineer will work closely with colleagues and supervisors to prioritize workloads and meet operational demands.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Plant Engineering and Plant Maintenance, with the ability to manage servicing and repair of a range of construction equipment.
- Practical experience in Plant Operations, including safe use, setup, and performance monitoring of plant and machinery.
- Troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions.
- Knowledge of Power Generation systems related to plant equipment, including basic controls and safety procedures.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or plant engineering (e.g., NVQ or equivalent) are beneficial.
- Experience in construction plant, heavy equipment, or hire industry, along with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance, is preferred.
- Good communication skills, ability to read technical manuals and diagrams, and capability to work both independently and as part of a team are important.
- A valid driver’s license and flexibility to support operational requirements on-site are advantageous.
