Job Introduction

This is a great opportunity to join our team as a Plant Fitter and develop your skills in maintaining and repairing a wide range of hire equipment.

Whether you already have some mechanical experience or are looking to build a long-term career in plant maintenance, we’ll provide the support, training, and hands-on experience you need to grow.

Based primarily at our depot (Monday to Friday), you’ll play an important role in keeping our equipment safe, reliable, and ready for our customers. Occasional site work or weekend support may be required to meet customer needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist with servicing, maintenance, and basic repairs on a range of petrol, 2-stroke, and diesel equipment
  • Learn to diagnose faults and carry out repairs under the guidance of experienced fitters
  • Help ensure equipment is inspected, tested and ready for hire with minimal downtime
  • Request parts and materials needed to complete repairs efficiently
  • Complete job records and service information accurately using company systems
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
  • Support the workshop team to maintain high standards of quality and turnaround

What We’re Looking For

  • Some hands-on experience with tools, machinery, vehicles, plant or mechanical/electrical equipment (work experience, hobby, college or previous role)
  • A genuine interest in mechanics and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • A positive, reliable, and “can-do” attitude
  • Good attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Basic IT skills for completing job records
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues when needed
  • Own basic tools (desirable but not essential for trainees)
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
