Plant Fitter/Service Engineers - General piling/vibro
Location: based at Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, NG17 8GJ with National travel as required.
We are seeking two qualified Plant Fitter/Service Engineers to join our team, depot based and mobile when required, specialising in the repair, servicing, and maintenance of heavy construction equipment. This role primarily focuses on large machinery, including piling rigs, and related accessories.
What You'll Be Doing
Mobile Service & Repairs:
- Travel to various sites across the UK for equipment breakdown repairs;
- Perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on heavy construction equipment, including piling rigs and crawler cranes.
Maintenance & Inspections:
- Conduct routine maintenance to ensure equipment complies with Tier 4 / Stage V standards.
- Inspect equipment for defects and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
- Participate in major repairs and rebuilds of machinery.

Component Repairs:
- Dismantle faulty components, repair or replace them as needed, and reassemble.
- Test equipment post-repair to ensure functionality meets quality standards.
Reporting & Communication:
- Complete detailed electronic work reports, including inspections, repairs, and services.
- Provide clear explanations of faults and repair processes to managers and colleagues.
Worksite & Vehicle Management:
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas and company vehicles.
- Conduct daily vehicle defect inspections.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Adhere strictly to Health and Safety regulations, risk assessments, and company safety protocols.
- Ensure all tasks are carried out in a safe and compliant manner.
Who we're looking for (person specification)
- Proven experience in maintaining and repairing large construction equipment (Heavy Plant).
- Familiarity with piling rigs and heavy-duty accessories is highly desirable.
- Strong diagnostic and repair abilities.
- Proficiency in maintaining electronic reports.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays when necessary.

Other Requirements:
- Eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK.
- A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK.
- Medical clearance
What you’ll get in return:
- Competitive salary depending on experience.
- Hours of work are typically 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday with paid breaks, however flexibility is required.
