We partner a global leader in intelligent power management technologies, helping organisations worldwide improve energy efficiency, safety and sustainability. With more than a century of engineering excellence, the company develops innovative solutions for industrial, commercial, infrastructure and energy markets.


We are currently supporting our client in the search for a couple of experienced Plant Managers to lead one of its manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom. There are two plants: in Luton, London and Sutton in Ashfield, each of them will be led by one Plant Manager.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader who is passionate about operational excellence, continuous improvement and developing high-performing teams.

About the Role

As Plant Manager, you will have full responsibility for the overall performance of the manufacturing site, ensuring excellence across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost and People while driving strategic business objectives and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all manufacturing operations while ensuring safe, efficient and profitable site performance.
  • Drive operational excellence across the SQDICP framework (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost and People).
  • Deliver business objectives while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Champion a proactive health, safety and environmental culture.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to optimise operational performance.
  • Manage production planning, capacity, resources and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee plant budgets, operating costs and capital expenditure.
  • Develop, coach and inspire high-performing leadership teams.
  • Build an engaged, diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Drive employee development, succession planning and talent growth.
  • Monitor key operational KPIs and implement sustainable improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support long-term business success.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree is considered an advantage.
  • Minimum five years of experience as a Plant Manager or in a comparable senior manufacturing leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing complex manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated success in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence.
  • Strong financial and commercial understanding.
  • Experience working with SAP and manufacturing ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and people development capabilities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead organisational change and deliver sustainable business results.
