We are looking for a Plant Manager to lead and manage all manufacturing operations within the new Birmingham-based Car Build facility, ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery of customer requirements. This role is accountable for achieving safety, quality, delivery, cost, people and environmental objectives whilst driving a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence and employee engagement across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all manufacturing operations, including site set up, to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity targets.
- Lead Production area setup (Facilities, floorplan layout, build control plans, tools, measurement systems, process flow/process mapping, process instructions, process capability, launch).
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and development for Team Leaders and Technicians, ensuring high performance and accountability across operational teams.
- Maintain overall operational control of site activities, ensuring alignment between Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain functions.
- Deliver operational performance against agreed KPIs, analysing trends and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles to improve productivity, quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, systems and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and company policies, promoting a proactive safety culture throughout the site.
- Ensure suitable risk assessments, safe systems of work and control measures are established and maintained across all operational areas.
- Ensure compliance with all business management systems and relevant standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Plant Manager / Production Manager role and a strong background in automotive manufacturing operations within an OEM environment. You will have demonstrable experience leading teams and driving performance improvements, and proven experience in building relationships with cross functional teams.
