The Opportunity

Join our dynamic, fast-paced team at the Mid Essex Asphalt operation in Chelmsford. This role is extremely varied, challenging, and rewarding for those passionate about exceptional customer service and teamwork.

Key tasks include:

  • Welcoming customers & upselling products
  • Processing orders & operating plant control systems
  • Operating mobile plants & light maintenance, including housekeeping
  • A ideal match for people committed to investing in their own safety, health, and career growth

About the Role

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prioritise safety for yourself and colleagues; customer service excellence
  • Upsell Complimentary Products to customers
  • Receive and process customer orders, applying correct order numbers
  • Weigh vehicles using the weighbridge and produce documentation
  • Mix high-quality material via the Plant Computer
  • Handle internal/external customer queries, requirements, and complaints professionally
  • Conduct pre-start checks on fixed and mobile plant, ensuring safety
  • Perform routine maintenance, including greasing and scheduling inspections
  • Operate the loading shovel (including fork attachments)
