Plant Operator

Position Purpose
To assist with the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring the receipt, treatment, and disposal of clinical waste. The role focuses on maximising plant availability and productivity, while adhering to company operational procedures and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Vehicle & traffic management:
- Unload vehicles and trailers (site-specific processes).
- Safely manoeuvre waste materials across the plant site.

Waste handling & logistics:
- Empty and clean waste containers thoroughly.
- Maintain an organised 'empty' storage area for containers ready for collection.
- Coordinate delivery paperwork, including supplier and contractor arrivals.

Safe waste reception and supervision:
- Oversee the safe loading of loose waste into containers by deliverers.
- Ensure compliance with container handling protocols.

Equipment operation:
- Operate a forklift truck as required.

Operational coordination:
- Participate in plant shutdowns (as necessary).
- Maintain company operational records specific to the role.

Safety & compliance:
- Highlight major equipment or building defects before issues escalate.
- Assist the Shift Supervisor or Plant Manager during breakdowns or controlled stops.
- Observe and comply with all safety notices and signage.
- Perform work safely and efficiently at all times.
- Attend mandatory training or job-specific courses.

Additional duties:
- Perform unplanned tasks to ensure smooth plant operations.

- Strictly adhere to company health & safety policies.
Requirements
Education & Experience
No specific educational requirements.
Preferred Experience: (Regional Focus: North America & LATAM} or Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia (EMEAA))
- Self-motivated, dependable, and enthusiastic about grainwear.
- Strong team player who thrives under pressure.
- Proven work history with a good health record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Punctual and displaying a flexible approach, including shift work.
