Chemical Process Operator

About the Role
Wychem, an Ascensus Specialties Company, is seeking a Chemical Process Operator to join their small, high-performing team with global reach. Reporting to the Senior Plant Lead or Plant Lead under the Director of Operations, this role is central to maintaining production excellence, quality control, and strict safety and environmental standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth production cycles, adherence to health and safety protocols, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritise health and safety by operating plant equipment responsibly and strictly complying with safety procedures.
- Maintain environmental compliance by following established protocols and preventing spills or incidents proactively.
- Manufacture, dry, and package materials precisely as instructed by leadership.
- Coordinate daily tasks efficiently in line with scheduled production demands.
- Foster a "Right First Time" culture by undertaking QC sample testing and ensuring accurate, timely documentation.
- Work closely with peers and management to resolve operational challenges and identify process improvements.
- Participate in internal/external audits and undertake additional training or duties as required.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.

- Minimum requirement: 4 GCSEs at grade C (or equivalent), or 1–2 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Office 365.
- Solid knowledge of safe practices for hazardous chemicals, materials, and explosive atmospheres.
- Ability to remain professional and collaborate effectively under pressure.
- Proactive communication skills with willingness to assist other teams.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet business demands.
