Description

Wychem, an Ascensus Specialties Company, is excited to announce an opening for a Chemical Process Operator, offering a unique opportunity to join a small yet thriving team with a significant global footprint. As a key member of the operations unit reporting directly to the Senior Plant Lead or Plant Lead under the leadership of the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the excellence of production, quality control, and safety standards. Ultimately, this position is essential to the integrity of Wychem’s production cycles, health and safety protocols, and environmental management systems.

Key Responsibilities

Prioritize the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues by operating plant equipment responsibly and maintaining strict compliance with all company safety procedures. Ensure continuous environmental compliance by following established protocols and acting proactively to prevent spills or incidents. Undertake the precise manufacture, drying, and packaging of materials as directed by the leadership team. Coordinate daily tasks effectively using the production schedule and management guidance to ensure all priorities are met within required timeframes. Facilitate the "Right First Time" culture by taking production samples for QC testing and ensuring all documentation is recorded accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with management and peers to resolve operational challenges and identify efficiencies to improve manufacturing processes. Participate in internal and external audits and engage in ongoing training or additional duties as directed to support the operations team. Other duties as assigned.

A minimum of 4 GCSE’s grade C (or equivalent), or 1–2 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar industry. A strong command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in Office 365. Comprehensive knowledge of safe practices involving hazardous chemicals, materials, and explosive atmospheres. The ability to maintain a professional demeanor and collaborate effectively during high-pressure periods. A proactive approach to communication, including the willingness to seek assistance or support other departments as needed. Must have scheduling flexibility to work additional hours as requested by management to meet business needs.
